Aimtec has added two new series of DC/DC switching regulator for a complete product offering of over 40 non-isolated, switching regulators as pin-to-pin replacement to 78xx linear regulators to meet virtually every configuration requirement.

The new AMSRW-78Z differentiates itself with ultra wide (up to 8:1) input voltage range spanning from 9 to 72VDC stepping down to highly regulated and protected output voltages ranging from 3.3 to 15VDC.
Alternatively, the new AMSRB-78-NZ offers a cost effective solution without compromise. Wide (up to 6:1) input voltage range spanning from 4.5 to 30VDC step down to regulated and protected outputs ranging from 3.3 to 15VDC. Both AMSRW-78Z and AMSRB-78-NZ produce maximum output currents of 500mA at efficiency rates of up to 96% that remain virtually constant over the entire input range. Operating continuously at full load without derating below +71° C (AMSRB-78-NZ) or +60° C (AMSRW-78Z), within an ambient temperature range of -40° to +85°C.eliminates the need for the costly and bulgy heasinks associated with linear regulators.
Designed in a compact, SIP3 packages (11.68 x 9.65 x 7.50mm), both series are pin compatible to the TO-220 package for low profile circuit implementations such as portable power and standby-power applications.
